November newsletter and brief Fall Hunt recap
By Webmaster | November 8, 2007
Terry just sent out the November newsletter, so here it is:
November 2007
Our next meeting will by Thursday, November 15th, at 7:00 P.M. We will get an update by Carolyn Glaze on the fall hunt. Need all members present; November meeting is election meeting for the 2008 club officers!!! We need to discuss the Christmas party plans; also it is never too early to start spring hunt planning.
October 2007
We had a total of twenty-one members present at the October meeting, including our newest member Marvin Stockwell! We discussed finalization of the fall hunt, Carolyn Glaze advised the number of entries, and all silver coins had been procured, as well as prizes.
A special thanks to our volunteers, that helped with the hunt: Andy Mastin, Debra Clifton, Sharon Scaccia, Mack Jepsen, Judy Jepsen, Sara Kee and Marvin Stockwell!!!!! Of the three metal detectors given away, the Whites M6 went to Alabama, the Ace 250 went to Tennessee and the Ace 150 went to Missouri. Attendance for the hunt was down about 25% from last year. But, from what I understand we covered our expenses with a little left over. Overall, the hunt was a success, and a special thanks to Carolyn Glaze for making it a success as she assumed the majority of the burden to make it happen!
Door prize winner at the October meeting was Debra Clifton, a 2-Peso gold coin! Finds of the month competition first place went to Terry Clifton/1876CC Seated Dime. Second place recipients were Terry Clifton/10K 1978 Men’s Class Ring and Marcus Stafford/Lead Toy Soldier. Our three third place winners were, Marcus Stafford/1927 Palmolive Soap Token, Bill Bugg/ “H” Civil War Hat Pin and Joey Rendon/10K gold ring w/diamonds.
Also, be sure to check out the photos in the Fall Hunt section!
